Hakimi stars as PSG thrash Le Havre 5-1 in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain continued their impressive Ligue 1 campaign with a commanding 5-1 victory away to Le Havre in the opening match of the ninth round. The result marked their sixth consecutive league win, strengthening their position at the top of the standings.

Le Havre, meanwhile, remains without a victory after nine league matches and continues to occupy the bottom place. Achraf Hakimi was the standout performer, contributing directly to all five PSG goals with a hat-trick and two assists.

PSG vs Le Havre: Hakimi inspires comeback

Luis Enrique's side initially found themselves behind despite making a strong start. Le Havre took advantage of a well-executed attacking move, with Josh Maja opening the scoring in the 18th minute to register the hosts' first first-half goal of the season.

PSG responded through Hakimi, who set up the equaliser for Mika Godts in the 26th minute. Just two minutes later, the Moroccan full-back put the visitors ahead of himself, finishing a dangerous run behind the opposition defence with a precisely placed shot to make it 2-1.

The Parisians looked to extend their advantage before the interval, but Djibril Ouziad and Arnaud Bodard denied them on separate occasions in the closing stages of the first half.

Achraf Hakimi hat-trick seals PSG victory

Hakimi continued his outstanding performance after the break, scoring directly from a superb free-kick in the 55th minute to give PSG a two-goal cushion. He came close to completing his hat-trick just a minute later, while Maja nearly reduced the deficit at the other end, only to see his header strike the post of Matvey Safonov's goal.

The Moroccan then provided his second assist of the evening, setting up Senny Mayulu, who kept his composure to beat Bodard after the goalkeeper had come out approximately 30 metres from his goal. Hakimi completed his first career hat-trick in the 67th minute, putting the finishing touch on a remarkable individual display and making it 5-1.

With the result effectively secured, PSG focused on maintaining their advantage. Safonov produced two important saves in the 83rd minute and during stoppage time to prevent Le Havre from finding another goal.

The victory moved PSG provisionally four points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table, extending their winning run to six consecutive league matches.
